We didn't build another digital business card. We built a better way to network.
EcoCard is a networking platform designed and developed by Future Technologies. It brings digital business cards, contact sharing, networking tools and the moments that happen around a meeting together in one connected experience.
The opportunity
Digital cards weren't the problem.
The opportunity was to think beyond the card itself.
There is no shortage of digital business cards. QR codes aren't new. Contact sharing isn't new either. When we started looking at the space, we weren't trying to solve a problem that had already been solved.
What interested us was everything that happens around the exchange of contact details.
A business card is usually part of something bigger. You meet someone. You have a conversation. You exchange details. You discuss opportunities, make commitments, connect on different platforms and hopefully remember to follow up afterwards.
Yet most digital cards still focus primarily on replacing the piece of cardboard.
We saw an opportunity to bring those pieces together and create a premium networking tool rather than simply a digital version of a traditional card.
The idea

EcoCard starts with a professional digital business card, but the card is really the foundation for a wider ecosystem of networking tools.
Instead of sending people across disconnected apps, links, notes and contact records, EcoCard is being developed as the central point for managing the connection.
Our product question became simple:
What if your digital business card could do more before, during and after a meeting?
That question continues to guide how we develop EcoCard and the capabilities we add to the platform.

How easily can two people connect? What useful information can be exchanged? How can context from a meeting be retained? How can a connection be saved? And how can technology make following up easier?
EcoCard gives us a platform on which we can keep answering those questions.
